Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Rise & Show app for iPhone does with your information. The short answer: it keeps everything on your device or in your own iCloud account, and the developer collects nothing.
The short version
- We collect no data. The App Store privacy label for Rise & Show is "Data Not Collected."
- No account and no sign-in. You never create an account or give us your name or email address to use the app.
- The camera is only used to recognize your objects. Recognition runs 100% on your iPhone using Apple's Vision framework. Camera frames are never stored or uploaded, and the app keeps no photos or video.
- Your data stays yours. Alarms, your object list and wake history are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. The developer can't access either.
- No ads, analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs.
1. Who we are
Rise & Show (the "app") is developed and published by Alptekin Kucukali ("we", "us"), an independent developer. This policy applies to the Rise & Show app for iPhone and to this website.
2. What the app stores, and where
To work, the app keeps a small amount of information on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework:
| Data | What it includes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Alarms | Time, repeat days, label, sound and snooze choices, wake-up object setting (Surprise me or one fixed object), on/off state | To ring your alarms |
| Objects | Which everyday objects you selected (at least 3, for example Bathroom sink or Fridge) and their names. For objects you set up with the camera in Settings > My objects (a quick camera check or 6 photos): only numeric image fingerprints calculated on your device. No photos or video are stored | To recognize your objects during a mission |
| Wake history | When you completed a mission and how long it took | To show your streak and success screen |
| Settings | Your preferences, such as default sound and the stay-awake check | To remember your choices |
An image fingerprint is a list of numbers that describes what your object looks like. It can't be turned back into a picture. It is used only to compare the camera view with your object, on your device.
The random object pick is computed on your device. When an alarm is set to Surprise me, your iPhone chooses the morning's object from your list using only the alarm and the date. No information is sent anywhere to make this choice.
None of this information is sent to us. It is stored only on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud account (see section 5).
3. Camera use
The app asks for camera access so it can recognize the objects you selected. It uses the camera only while you are:
- completing step 1 of a wake-up mission, when you show that morning's object; and
- setting up, checking or re-taking photos of an object in Settings > My objects.
Camera frames are analyzed in memory, on your iPhone, using Apple's Vision framework, and then discarded. They are not recorded, saved or uploaded. The check that rejects a picture shown on another screen also runs on your iPhone. The app doesn't keep any camera images at all: no photos and no video. When you set up or check an object in Settings > My objects, the frames are turned into numeric image fingerprints on your iPhone and then discarded.
You can turn camera access off at any time in Settings > Apps > Rise & Show. Without the camera, your alarms still ring, and step 1 of the mission is replaced by math questions.
4. Alarms permission
The app uses Apple's AlarmKit to schedule alarms, so they can ring even when your iPhone is on Silent or in a Focus. Alarms are scheduled by iOS on your device. No alarm information is sent to us.
5. iCloud sync and backup
If you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, the app syncs and backs up the data listed in section 2 to your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. This lets your alarms and objects come back if you reinstall the app or set up a new iPhone.
- This data lives in your iCloud account and is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- It is stored in the private database of your account. The developer has no access to it and cannot see, read or download it.
- It counts toward your iCloud storage. The amount is small, because the app stores only settings, lists and numbers, never images.
- If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for the app, your data stays only on your device.
To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Rise & Show in Settings > [your name] > iCloud (look under the list of apps using iCloud).
6. What we don't do
- We don't collect, receive or store any personal data from the app.
- We don't use accounts, logins or sign-in of any kind, including Sign in with Apple.
- We don't show ads or use the advertising identifier.
- We don't use analytics, crash reporting or any other third-party SDKs.
- We don't track you across apps or websites, and we don't sell or share data with anyone.
- This website uses no cookies, analytics or external resources.
7. Information Apple may provide to us
Apple runs the App Store and may provide developers with information under its own terms, for example:
- App Store statistics and crash reports. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us aggregated usage statistics and crash reports. These don't identify you. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
- Optional tips. If one-time tips are offered in the app in the future, purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Tips unlock no features.
8. Share cards
After a successful morning, you can create a share card showing things like your wake-up time and streak. The card is created on your device and contains no photos. It is only shared if you choose to, through the standard iOS share sheet, with the app or person you pick.
9. Deleting your data
You are in control of your data at all times:
- Inside the app: delete individual alarms or objects. Deleting an object removes its image fingerprints.
- On your device: deleting the Rise & Show app removes all of its data from that iPhone.
- In iCloud: open Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage (on some iOS versions, Manage Account Storage), choose Rise & Show, then delete its data.
To remove everything, delete the app from each of your devices and delete its data from iCloud. We can't delete data for you, because we don't have access to it.
10. Children
Rise & Show is a general-audience alarm app and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it does not collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions, please contact us.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Because we don't collect or hold any personal data from the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can manage all of your app data directly as described in section 9. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
12. Security
Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS security features, such as your passcode and device encryption. Data in iCloud is protected by Apple. Because nothing is sent to our own servers (we don't have any), there is no developer database that could be breached.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
